Sunrise Grand Canyon
These shoots are part of why I love photography--getting up at 3:30 AM, making strong Sumatra Coffee, walking in the dark from the campground to the edge of the canyon, wearing my well worn miner's light, setting up the tripod, programming the intervalometer, and then waiting for the very first hint of light to the east, and hearing the first click whir of the camera. Every 90 seconds, for the duration of the sunrise, watching the light chase the shadows through that majestic opening of rock, these captured still images, made into a movie, bring dawn to the Grand Canyon.

Destination Catalina
I began photographing Catalina Island when I first came to California 1983 and it became one of my favorite photo locations. I now photo and video work for the Island Company, the Avalon Chamber of Commerce, and other local island businesses including Catalina By Design (see link below).
